FUNi gets Revelation
Funimation’s future in the UK has been cleared up, again thanks to the investigations of UK-Anime.net.
The Navarre Corporation, FUNimation’s parent company, is apparently trying to streamline its operation on this side of the Atlantic by moving FUNi’s distribution over to Revelation Films, who already handle UK distrubution of other Navarre products.
Revelation’s commercial director Trevor Drane had this to say in the press release (which I’m trying to get a hold of in its entirety).
“As a best of breed visual home entertainment company we are delighted to be working with FUNimation. Its commitment to quality when delivering some of the world’s most exciting Japanese animation titles on DVD fits perfectly with our own publishing ideals. Their packaging and innovative marketing dovetails with our objective of giving the DVD consumer the best possible ownership experience. We are excited about this tie up and the wonderful way in which FUNimation markets its properties on DVD.”
Revelation have released a couple of anime titles to the UK market already, though their pedigree is far from impressive in this area.
