The hotly-awaited XBox360 RPG Blue Dragon is to get a manga adaptation, according to an announcement from Monthly Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha.

The manga will begin its run in the January issue of Monthly Shonen Jump under the title Blue Dragon ST and will be drawn by Ami Shibata.

With a web domain also registered for a possible anime adapatation, Microsoft are obviously pulling out all the stops to get this title into the minds of the Japanese population. It’s no secret that the XBox and it’s successor have had a terrible time getting off the ground in Japan, but the reaction to Blue Dragon has been very positive so far and these tie-ins could be enough to tip fan awareness over into console sales.
